2020 5th Place

Our team finished in 5th Place at the State Tournament this season. We ended up with 5 state medalists from our 11 State Qualifiers. Clay Cerny ended his career as a 3X State medalist and a 5th place at 120lbs. Clay defeated 3 consecutive opponents he had lost to to get on the podium. What a way to finish his career! Saturday afternoon we had 4 wrestlers make the finals and get to walk in the parade of champions. Adrian Bice made it to the finals at 106lbs by recording 3 straight pins and finished in 2nd place at his first state tournament. Blayze Standley became a 2X state medalist by finishing in 2nd place at 170lbs. Anthony DeAnda became a 3X state medalist by finishing in 2nd place at 182lbs. Kasten Grape also became a 3X state medalist by finishing in 2nd place at 195lbs. DeAnda will go down in our history books as #4 in all time wins with 173 career victories. Grape is the new school record holder in Career wins with 192 wins and also pins in a career with 142 pins!

Other qualifiers were: 113 Blake Cerny, 132 Caydn Kucera, 138 Alex Korte, 145 Levi Bloomquist, 152 Rylee Iburg, and 160 Mac Shevlin. Above is our team in the robes at the state tournament.
