4th Place at State

We ended our season at the 2017 NSAA State tournament by finishing in 4th place. This team has a lot to be proud of and sends this years seniors out with another top 5 performance. Leading the way was Colton Wolfe who won his 3rd state title at 195lbs in style by scoring 4 straight pins! Wyatt Olcott earned a trip to the finals at 220lbs and ended up with a silver medal. Zach Baldwin (170)and Cyrus Marshall (285)both finished in 3rd place, this is significant due to the long losing streak our program has had in the 3rd place match at state in the last decade. We were 0/7 in that match before Baldwin won and Marshall followed his lead and also placed 3rd. Carter Kucera earned his second state medal and finished in 4th place at 113lbs. We had 5 other state qualifiers who came up short on their bids for state medals: Jesse Appel 0-2 at 132lbs, Cade Fullner 0-2 at 138lbs, Carson Zwingman 2-2 at 152lbs, Anthony DeAnda went 2-2 at 160lbs, and Kasten Grape went 1-2 at 182lbs.

This years team broke several records and set the bar very high for future wrestlers if they want to have their names on the record board! See our records page for details.

We also added 3 more wrestlers to our 100 wins club with Colton Wolfe (170) Cyrus Marshall(133) and Wyatt Olcott (118).
